Saddleworth 3Ds Newsletter, August 2020

Hi All

In these continually changing and challenging times it is good to see that so many of our teams are getting going with training and playing again. It has been hard work for all involved in putting the new measures in place before training could commence. Everyone’s efforts are appreciated in complying with the guidelines and in the additional work that coaches are required to undertake. We now have 270 players signed on with even more still enquiring about joining, which is tremendous and testament to the good work the club is doing.

Under the additional restrictions put in place by OMBC and the Government last week we are currently still allowed to train and play under FA Guidelines issued on 18th July. As we all know this could change at any time and the club will respond according.

The FA held a ‘returning to grassroots football’ webinar last week and it was pleasing to see that Saddleworth 3Ds are already following the guidelines correctly. However, some additional information emerged which needs to be shared with players, coaches, officers and parents/carers. This short video summarises what you need to know so please take a few minutes to watch it. Please don’t share it outside the club as it is specific to Manchester FA and other FAs will be providing their own guidelines:

Please note the Before, During and After Activity sections and the particular measures within each one.

Other points to note:

  • The club is fully insured and we are required to follow FA and Government guidelines under the terms of the insurance policy. The club’s public liability certificate can be viewed on the website.

  • Spectator group sizes should be limited to a maximum of six people maintaining 2m distance at all times. Where there are multiple spectator groups on a particular site, they should remain distanced from other spectator groups at all times.

  • The club is now required to have a COVID Officer, so we have decided to appoint a COVID team: Lesley Milne, secretary and Natalie Brierley and Diane Hindley from the child welfare team. The team will be engaged in updating the club’s risk assessment, managing test and trace and ensuring we are always compliant with the current guidelines. There is a COVID section on the website which we will update with relevant information and documents and there is a dedicated email address for COVID-specific enquiries: covidteam.saddleworth3ds@btinternet.com If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
